" Rape or Not"

Young girls acting like whores
“Snitch” they called one girl
Young men acting like boys is a sentence
"The chick, she should get in trouble"
Jessica Glenza
the 13-year-old girl is still posting.
After what Edgar Gonzalez did
at the dodge ball tournament
‘statutory’ rape is rape” and “rape is not O.K

I choose this article because it was very interesting to me. I chose it by  trying to find deep articles. My poem says that rape is not something to play around about. It was frustrating and fun to create. I went about doing it by just trying to find an interesting article.I found the process hard because when i found an interesting article it was hard to find phrases and words. I do think doing the found poem was worth it because it helps you writing poems. It’s also worth writing because it help who with finding things and helps you putting your creative skills on the table.

Women in Combat

This article “Sisters in Arms" is about the U.S. military is lifting the long standing ban on the women in combat. “Of the 2.5 million Americans who have served in both wars since 2001, about 12 percent have been women. Like men, some of these women have come home bearing the mental and physical of war." This quote states that just are stronger than females doesn't mean that women don’t walk out of wars with scars to tell what went down. "Since2001, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have drastically changed the military's needs. Today, women make up almost 15 percent of the 1.4 million active-duty U.S military. About 18,000 women are currently deployed to Afghanistan, according to the pentagon. This quotes states that since 2001 there been a change. A lot of women have been deployed and that more and more women will. I believe this article was very interesting and i happy to see that women are finally getting a chance to be able to work in the male field. What will happen next? Will it still be the same?

Little Rock Nine

This article” The Little Rock Nine “is about nine teenagers that try to desegregate Central High School and succeeded. “ On September 4, nine black students- selected by the school board from a pool of more than 100 volunteers-tried to enter Central High for the time.” This quote states the process that the teenagers had to go through. “Gloria Ray, 15, reported that white students called her names, spat at her, vandalized her locker, and pushed her down her a flight of stair.” This quote states that Gloria was put through a lot. She was treated like an animal. It also states what kind of abuse the nine students had went through and it’s sad to hear that Gloria was pushed. I think this topic is very important because to hear that nine African American students desegregated a school in 1957 is an accomplish.  Before I read this article I thought  it was about nine little rocks , but I realize it’s about nine african american teenager trying to go to an all white high school in 1957. I wonder if they were nine caucasian teenagers going to an all afrcian american high school. Would they have did anything differently. Would they have tormented they white kids. In my opinion i think they would have let the teenagers in with out a problem.

The Truth About Valentine's Day

This Article "Historically Incorrect Canoodling" is about how some Americans are saying that people are separating sex from love and devalue marriage. The author is saying that people are most romantic on Valentine's Day and that we have high expectations of marriage. " For thousands of years, love, passion, and marriage were considered a rare and usually undesirable combination. Valentine's Day was originally created by the Roman Catholic Church as a limit on sexual passion". This quote states that it was a rare for people to each other and wanted to get married. " High expectations of married love can lead to huge disappointments, and free choice means that an individual can refuse to settle for a marriage where love is absent." This quote states that we have high expectations of our marriage life nowadays and that our disappointments can turn into divorces and back in the day people low expectations and they really didn't care about their spouse. I think this article is very interesting because it told us when the day was started why it was started and what people think of the day. Some solutions to the problem is that people can show more love everyday then just Valentine's day. I wonder if people would ever lower there expectations on love and marriage? Are ever going to settle down and make kids for the right reason?

Abused & Mistreated

This article " A Rare Case Of Justice" is about how a girl named Sahar Gul whose from Afghanistan  was abused by her in-laws and other females getting the same treatment. "After Sahar Gul was forced to marry at age 13,her in-laws tortured her and kept her in a  dirty, windowless, cellar for months until the police discovered her laying there in hay and animal dung." This quote says that torturing of women happens anywhere. " The abuse by her in-laws continued for six months even as neighbors, police officers, and her own family repeatedly voice suspicions that something was wrong." " Frustrated that the girl could not perform the housework they expected her in-laws put her in the cellar, where she slept on the floor without a mattress, her hands and feet tied with rope." This quote states how badly she was abused by her in-laws and this happened for months. " Much remains to be done. Women abused by their husbands or families often end up in jail instead of theirs abusers." " It's not uncommon, especially in rural areas, for families to trade daughters into marriage or prostitution to settle debts." This is sad because no female should be put through this no matter what. No 13 year old should be forced into marriage or forced into prostitution at any age. I believe that women around the world should have equal rights that shouldn’t be forced into if they don’t want to do it.

The Face of America

The article "The new face of america " by: Veronica Majerol is about how the White(Non-Hispanic) race is going down instead of up." By 2020, whites will likely make up less than half of the under-18 population". This quotes states that the more years go by the more likely the white population is going to go down. Another example is " The number of mixed-race marriages and, as a result, mixed-race children is on the rise" This quotes right here states thats there's going to be alot of mixed children and new races and more conflict" I believe that there's nothing wrong with being a mixed child even though im not. Theres's alot of conflict going around. For example my teacher Mr. Petro said that his wife,sister-law, and mother-law was protesting on how Geno's Steaks, said "In speak english." And that started a big arugment which lead to people being called a whore which is a horrible to be called. This is getting out of hand this is a free country and everyone should be treated equally no one should to endore that so much touture with it just being words it didn't even escalate to nothing bigger. This is to much for our country and to me it doesn't matter if there's more races in the U.S. then it was before.

House of Anubis

House of Anubis is about nine young teenagers that goes to a English boarding school that has a mystery that has to be solved. It wasn't just a easy run for student Nina Martin(Nathalia Ramos) who gets a gift from a old lady named Sarah Frobisher-Smythe whick was a eye of horus shaped necklace. Student Joy Mercer (klariza clayton) goes missing and her bestfriend  Patricia Williamson (Jade Ramsey) who blames Nina for Joy disappearing. Fabian (Brad Kavanagh) starts to catch feelings  for Nina and helps her out with the mystery. That's when they form a group named Sibuna ( Anubis backwards) which included (Nina,Fabian,Patricia,Alfie(Alex Sawyer),and Amber( (Ana Mulvoy Ten). Victor their house caregiver wasn't to nice himself he was mean, strict person. There are some many mysteries in the house that they can't solve by themselves. It's so many clues and quests that they have find. I would want to be in this  kind of boarding school because it seem kind of fun and spooking at the same time but it likes alot of danger. If i had to choose a character out of the sibuna gang i would choose Nina because she seems like a cool person she has the power to change things
